Tips for Downsizing to a Luxury Condo

Thinking about downsizing? Sounds like you're looking for a lifestyle change! I'm Deborah, your Nashville real estate expert, and I am here to help you navigate through the process. So if you're thinking about downsizing, here are a few things that will make that process so much easier.

Often when clients downsize, they want to take their furniture with them - and this is one of the biggest things most don't think about. For example, if you're living in a single-family home and you're about to downsize to a condo, the furniture in your single-family home may not be the furniture you would buy for a condo.

So many get stuck trying to find a condo to fit their furniture - my best insight - sell, donate, or give the furniture to a family member or friend. A lifestyle change isn't just about purchasing your new home. It's about what's on the inside too - and sometimes that means letting go and creating space for other items that fit perfectly.

There's an assumption that condo living is full of residents who come and go. However, this is not the case everywhere. Depending on the building, you may find that many second-home buyers live there, which usually means it'll be busier on the weekends when people are coming into town and quiet during the week.

One thing is for sure - condo living is a lifestyle change. In addition to downsizing, different condo communities offer various activities and amenities - we will work to help you find the community that fits the experience you're looking for.
